A custom painting, also called a commission, starts on the Custom Paintings page. Upload up to three photos of the same moment, then choose how many subjects are in the painting and a canvas size. Your price shows as you go. Sign the commission agreement, pay a 50% deposit and Kristi takes it from there.

Custom paintings (Commissions)
A painting from your photo

Custom paintings start at $210 for an 8 × 10 in canvas with one subject and run to $1,560 for a 24 × 30 in canvas. Each extra subject adds $25 on canvases up to 20 × 20 in and $50 on the two largest sizes.
A 50% deposit is charged when you send your request. The balance, plus any shipping outside the contiguous US, is due when your painting is finished and before it ships. Kristi emails you a secure payment link.
About 8 business days for 8 × 10 in to 11 × 14 in canvases, and 14 to 16 business days for 20 × 20 in and up. The time is counted from when Kristi starts your painting.
The original file from your phone or camera, sharp on the subject and taken in good light, with the subject filling a good part of the frame. Screenshots and social media downloads lose detail. Each file can be up to 8MB. A scan of an old print can work too.
Kristi reviews every photo before she starts. If she needs a better one, she’ll contact you. If she can’t work from any of your photos, she refunds your deposit in full.
If Kristi can’t work from your photos, she refunds your deposit in full. Once she starts painting, the deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel at completion of the painting, a late cancellation fee of 25% of the painting price also applies.
It’s a hand-painted original in Kristi’s style, so expect it to capture the moment rather than copy every pixel. You get a preview photo before it ships.
Yes. Kristi paints up to 48 × 60 in and can take on more than three subjects. Those are quoted individually.
Yes. A custom painting can ship straight to the person you’re giving it to.
Kristi keeps the copyright, including reproduction rights. The painting is yours to hang and enjoy.

Buying a painting or a print
Every painting in the shop lists its size and the prints available for it.
Originals and custom paintings are acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas, which means the canvas is wrapped around a wooden frame. Kristi paints each one by hand and finishes it with a UV-protective varnish that helps the painting last. Each original is one of a kind and sold once.
They don’t need one. The canvas is wrapped around a wooden frame and the edges are finished, so the painting is ready to hang as it is.
Signed and numbered limited editions, printed on 320gsm cold press archival paper with archival ink. Each edition is limited to 50 prints per size.
8 × 10 in for $48, 10 × 10 in for $58 or 11 × 14 in for $85. The sizes offered depend on the painting, and each painting’s page lists them.
Most are. A few are sold as the original only. Each painting’s page shows what’s available.
No. Prints ship unframed.
Yes. Most painting pages show the reference photo next to the finished canvas, along with the story behind it.
Standard shipping is free in the contiguous US for prints, originals and custom paintings.
Originals ship in about 2 business days. Kristi doesn’t keep every print in stock, so allow about a week before a print ships. A custom painting ships once it’s finished and the balance is paid.
